The National Journal reports both presidential campaigns, along with their outside supporters, have spent a grand total of $457 million on TV ads. And we haven’t even reached the conventions.
All that money has resulted in pretty much nothing. Every national poll has the race at a tie. The only little something something President Obama can claim is a fairly small lead in swing states Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to a poll released earlier this week.
Mitt Romney‘s campaign has spent $51 million to date. Obama’s, $215 million, which includes spending from the DNC.
Sounds like money well spent.
