How Easy is it to Create a Facebook Account?

It's really easy to create an account on Facebook. You might be thinking that you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get a Facebook account, but you don't any more. When Facebook first started out it was exclusive to a few Ivy league universities. After a while it spread to most major colleges. During this time you needed to have an email address that was from one of these schools in order to establish an account. This is why there may still be rumors or thoughts that Facebook is an exclusive site. All of its exclusivity was stopped a while back and now it is open to everyone.

In order to create a Facebook account you'll need to go to Facebook.com Enter your first and last name, your email address, your birthday, and then you'll be asked to fill in two words as a security check to make sure you're a human. Next you'll be taken to Step 1 where you can find friends of yours that are already using Facebook. This will help you quickly grow your Friend's list and make Facebook more fun to use. Just enter your email and your password and Facebook will automatically scan your contacts to see if there's any email matches. You can skip this step if you want to.

Step two involves filling out basic profile information like where you went to school and what company you work for. This will also help you find people that are already on Facebook and that you may not have been in contact with for a long time. If you've fallen out of touch with old grade school, high school, or college classmates you can find many of them on Facebook already and they'll be happy to hear from you. You can also skip this step if you'd like.

Step three involves uploading or taking a picture of yourself to go on your profile page. It is strongly suggested that you add a photo to your profile. People that use Facebook but don't have a profile photo just look creepy or strange. It either looks like you're trying to hide something, or you don't know enough about how a computer works to upload a photo. Either way it doesn't bode well for you, so take the 30 seconds to get an image of yourself on there. It doesn't have to be a close up, but just something that shows you're a real person. If you insist on skipping this part you can.

And that's it, you're in! You can now get busy with your new account. Post your first update and start some photo albums. Install some apps and games and start your own farm on Farmville and you're well on your way to being a Facebook pro.

Dominic doesn't remember starting his Facebook account, it just sort of happened long ago. His most recent site tells how to get your very own Oomphies slippers and finding the best character slippers from your favorite animated shows.
