How Do You Delete a Facebook Account? - Top Tips to Delete a Facebook Account Forever

Facebook is the biggest social networking website in the world with over 500 million active users. However, some aspects of its functionality are not to everyone's liking, and so you may find yourself wondering, 'How do I delete my Facebook account?'. If this sounds like you, then read on for information about deleting your Facebook account.

Deactivate Your Account

First of all, you may not know that if you don't want to use Facebook for a while, you do not necessarily have to delete your account.

If you think there may be a possibility that you may decide to start re-using Facebook in the future, then you can deactivate your account rather than deleting it permanently. This means that other people will not be able to see or access your Facebook account, but your profile information such as your friend connections and all of your photographs are kept.

To deactivate your account, go to 'Accounts', 'Account Settings' and then click on 'Deactivate account'.

If you later decide to deactivate your account, then it will be as you left it. To reactivate it, simply log back into Facebook.

Delete Your Account

If you are sure that you want to delete your Facebook account permanently, then you should be aware that there is no going back. You have to submit a request to Facebook to delete your account and once you have done this, you will not be able to access any of the information on your account. This means that you will not be able to access any of your photos or friend information once it is deleted.

If this is OK with you, then you have to submit a request to Facebook using the link that is provided via their help centre to delete your Facebook account permanently.

Facebook will then process this request and your Facebook account will be deleted.
